Gary Lawless is co-owner of Gulf of Maine Books in Brunswick, Maine and editor/publisher of Blackberry Books. He has published 19 collections of poetry in the US and 5 in Italy. His latest collection How the Stones Came to Venice, published by Littoral Books in Portland, Maine, is the product of a one-month residency in Venice, Italy, at the Emily Harvey Foundation. "How the Stones" is being translated into Italian for publication there, and into Portuguese for publication in Brazil. It includes a number of photographs taken by his wife Beth Leonard, co-owner of Gulf of Maine Books. This reading will be in the garden of the John Greenleaf Whittier Home, 86 Friend St. in Amesbury and will be followed by an open mic.
